Incident analysis

The Safety analysis tool in Foresea allows the users to research specific safety topics identified. Based on certain trends or patterns, experts can derive causal chains, efficient risk reducing measures and potential of improvement in a structured way.  The knowledge derived by the safety analysis based on the knowledge from the Foresea database, is spread inside organizations and to all relevant stakeholders in order to improve safety in shipping.

Foresea deploys for the safety analysis the methodology as proposed recommended by the
International Maritime Organisation (IMO), Formal Safety Assessment (FSA). The different steps of the assessment are described here and how they are interpreted when applied to the Foresea database.

An FSA is a structured and systematic methodology, aimed at enhancing maritime safety, including protection of life, health, the marine environment and property, by using risk analysis and cost benefit assessment.
